USB Software downloads on this page are useable for any SatKing Promax or Promax Plus from years 2016 thru 2025 that use the LCD display type controller pictured to the right. There are no longer software updates available for Promax units from years 2014 & 2015 with the older non LCD display white round controller. Note the LCD display controllers are not compatible with 2014 & 2015 units.

Do you have a Promax Plus? The software can simply be updated via Bluetooth. Download the “SatKing Connect” app from your App Store and complete the update via your Phone/tablet.

To check if your Promax is up to date check the table below. Power off and then back on the Promax indoor controller and check the 2x version numbers (MB&CT) that flash up briefly on power on. Once you know your MB (mainboard) version number you can check what the latest CT (controller) version number you should be using:

Updates with this version

How to install

1. Download the 3x .BIN files on to a USB memory stick 8GB or smaller in FAT32 format (don’t place .BIN files inside a folder). No need to try to open the files on your PC.
2. Ensure the Promax is turned off and plug the USB stick into the USB port on the bottom of the Promax controller.
3. Press and hold in the “Tune” button and then press the “Power” button once and release both buttons.
4. The LCD display will show “USB connected, F/W Update mode” this means the process has started. The USB update is quick, just 10 seconds.
5. Once “Upgrade Finished_OK” is displayed on the LCD display, the update is complete.

Trouble Shooting

• If the controller displays file not found or the update doesn’t start check the below:
• The USB may be in the wrong format, the SatKing Promax requires FAT-32 format. (The change the format to FAT-32 make sure you back up your existing files on the stick as changing the format will wipe the files.) Insert the USB stick into a PC and check the format of the drive by selecting the USB file and right clicking and going to “Properties”, if the file is not FAT-32 you need to go to “format” and select FAT-32 file system. Then you need to download the software again and repeat steps 1 thru 5 again.
• It is important the USB size is 8GB or smaller.
• Try a different USB stick.
• Make sure you can see the 3x .BIN files on the USB stick
